Silver and Carbon Options

Carbon Marathon Ceramics offers several different types of carbon options for use with ceramic media. Carbon block cores offer superior performance for reduction of VOCs, halogens (like chlorine and iodine), organic chemicals, pesticides, and taste and odor compounds. Carbon blocks are also available for lead reduction in certain applications. GAC (granular activated carbon) is available in combination with the Marathon ceramic media. GAC is a great, inexpensive alternative to block carbon, and performs particularly well in gravity feed applications where there is long contact time for excellent performance.

Silver For international applications, Marathon offers exclusive Nano-SilverTM technology for enhanced bacteriastatic performance throughout the ceramic media. Nano-Silver filter elements are unique with multiple safety features, preventing potential disease causing germs from growing throughout the ceramic medium, even after years of continual use. Silverized GAC, carbon blocks, and quartz media are available for custom international orders.
